T he Board of Mayor & Aldermen (BoMA) of Powells Crossroads unanimously agreed to purchase a new Taser gun for the town’s police department during its April meeting.

Writer T he Jasper Middle School baseball team finished the regular season undefeated and was dominant all year. The Whitwell Tigers were the last team standing in their way of back-to-back SVC championships. In the end, it was the Warriors who came out on top 7-4.

Writer L ast Friday, the South Pittsburg baseball team faced rival Whitwell in a win-or-go-home matchup. The two teams had met earlier in the week, with Whitwell winning 3-2 in a nail-biter. With the season on the line, it was South Pittsburg that emerged victorious, 4-1, to advance to the Region Tournament.

K icking off a year of cruisein car shows throughout the Sequatchie Valley, Marion County Cruisers hosted the first of its 2026 ensemble of car shows at Holloway’s Garage in Powells Crossroads.
