A s per tradition within Marion County’s school system, the county’s Board of Education hosted its Seal of Excellence ceremony in honor of all high school senior recipients and their academic achievements.

T ennessee has recently been ranked as the worst state in the nation for student spending at public schools, according to a newly released report by the National Education Association (NEA).

W ith the immensely popular National Cornbread Festival on the horizon, other related events have been taking place, such as the annual Miss National Cornbread Pageant. Just like many years before, the show was held at South Pittsburg’s Princess Theatre on Saturday, April 18. The pageant began at 6 p.m. and the registration fee was $25 for all visitors, alongside admission being $5 for adults and $3 for students.
