S tudents, staff, and residents of the Richard City area of South Pittsburg have gathered in celebration of Richard Hardy Memorial School’s 100th anniversary on Saturday, April 18.

Writer T he Jasper Middle School baseball team finished the regular season undefeated and was dominant all year. The Whitwell Tigers were the last team standing in their way of back-to-back SVC championships. In the end, it was the Warriors who came out on top 7-4.

Writer L ast Friday, the South Pittsburg baseball team faced rival Whitwell in a win-or-go-home matchup. The two teams had met earlier in the week, with Whitwell winning 3-2 in a nail-biter. With the season on the line, it was South Pittsburg that emerged victorious, 4-1, to advance to the Region Tournament.

L ocal only to Chattanooga, Clumpies Ice Cream Co. is one of the city’s most popular and much beloved establishments, serving homemade ice cream and milkshakes of varying flavors since 1999.

S outh Pittsburg’s Presley Powers has officially taken the title as Miss Tennessee in this year’s Miss Tennessee for America Strong 2026 contest, which was held in Gatlinburg.
