Cynthia “Cindy” Denise Wood, beloved wife, devoted mother, proud Mimi and a quiet source of grace in the lives she touched, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 3 wrapped in peace and surrounded by love. She was 67.
Her life reflected kindness—soft‑spoken strength, steady compassion, and a heart that always seemed to have room for one more person to care for. She created warmth wherever she went, whether through comforting words, a thoughtful gesture, a stranger needing to be noticed, or the simple way she listened with her whole heart.
As a wife, she was a true partner – faithful, encouraging, and endlessly loving. As a mother, she was a gentle guide, a safe place, and a constant reminder that love is shown every day in the smallest, most meaningful ways. Her children, Jeremy and Emily, carry her light within them, a glow that will never be dim.
She was the best Mimi to her two grandbabies and she never missed a chance to tell them how much she loved them. She was so proud to be their Mimi and always showed them a love that was true, deep, and unconditional – a love bigger than words can express.
Those who knew her felt the sweetness of her spirit. She had a way of lifting burdens without calling attention to her own, of offering hope without needing recognition. Her presence was a blessing; her absence is felt deeply.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years Jeffrey “Jeff” Lane Wood, her son Jeremy (Mikkayla) Wood, her daughter Emily (Donovan) Patterson, her two grandchildren that she absolutely adored, Brady and Avery, her mother Clara Keef-Prince and her mother-in-law Birdie Kastler, her brothers Gary (Kim) Prince, Bruce (Tracy) Prince, and Michael (Stephanie) Prince, sister Libby (Keith) Trundle, sisters-in-law Terese and Leanna, her nieces and nephews who are treasured and loved deeply Lindsey, Brandy and Cole, Blake and Emma, Kris and Jacob, Maggie and Mason and Lacrecia and Joseph, who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, February 7 at 2 p.m. in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, where family and friends gathered to honor her gentle soul and the heavenly peace she now knows. Brother Josh Devlin officiated the service. Cindy was laid to rest at Hooker Cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 7 at 12 p.m. prior to the service hour.
Her love remains—soft as a whisper, bright as morning light, eternal as the heavens she has entered.
Gary Prince, Bruce Prince, Michael Prince, Blake Trundle, Jacob Prince, and Donovan Patterson served as pallbearers. Keith Trundle and William Burrell served as honorary pallbearers.
Moore Funeral Home of Trenton, Georgia is honored to have served the family of Cindy Wood during this time.
