Justin Price Evans, 42 of Whitwell was called home on Sunday, February 1. Born on April 19, 1983 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Justin was the beloved son of Jimmy Ray Evans and Cyndi Lynn Jordan Webb. Justin built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and the simple joys that made him who he was and shared with his life partner, Joannie Lewis. He worked as a dedicated Steel Cutter for Columbus McKinnon, where his strong work ethic and steady presence were deeply valued. Outside of work, Justin embraced the things that brought him happiness and connection. He had a lifelong love for Lego sets and Hot Wheels, a passion that reflected his playful spirit and appreciation for creativity. He enjoyed shooting, riding ATVs through the hills of Tennessee, and spending evenings in the company of friends during their cherished game nights. Justin’s heart was especially tender when it came to his cats Dobby, Zilli, and Bella, each of whom he loved deeply. His love for them was a defining part of his life and they brought him comfort, laughter, and companionship. Justin will be remembered for his kind soul, his quiet strength, and the joy he found in the world around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Justin is preceded in death by his father Jimmy Ray Evans, grandparents Clifford and Jackie Jordan, Bobby and Linda Wilson, Dick and Mary Evans, as well as his half-brother Jonathan Evans.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother Cindi Lynn Jordan Webb, life partner Joannie Lewis, stepdaughter Laney (Steven) Wooten, brother Jimmy Shawn Evans, half-brother Nathan Evans, nephews R. J. and Cameron Evans, and several other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, February 6 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were on Friday, February 6 at 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Sherry VanAllman who spoke and Pastor Doug Ramsey who officiated.
Justin was laid to rest on Friday, February 6 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately after the funeral services were held.
Pallbearers were Daniel Gilbert, Randy Layne, Ronnie McNabb, Aaron Williams, Matt Stephens, Cameron Evans and Shawn Evans.
