Wanda S. Tipton, 75 of Jasper was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 22. Born on February 13, 1950 in Guild, she was the daughter of Hershel Kelly and Marie Hale Scott. She attended Aldhous Church of Christ in Bridgeport, Alabama. Wanda lived her faith through a lifetime of service, compassion, and quiet strength. She dedicated 42 years to nursing, working in various healthcare facilities throughout her career. Her gentle spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others touched countless lives. Wanda found joy in the simple, meaningful things, the plants and flowers she nurtured, and the many photographs she collected of the family she cherished so deeply. Her kindness, warmth, and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to inspire those blessed to have shared in her life.
Wanda is preceded in death by her father Hershel Kelly, mother Marie Hale Scott, brother Douglas Scott and sister Vickie Hughes.
Left to cherish her memories are her son Douglas Wayne Tipton, brothers Bobby Scott and Rick Scott, sister Cynthia Greer, several nieces, nephews, as well as other family members and friends.
Visitation was on Wednesday, January 28 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
Funeral services were also on Wednesday, January 28 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Brother Andre Massengile who officiated.
