Rita Ann Alder, 75

Rita Ann Alder, 75 of Jasper was called home on Monday, January 20. Born on March 16, 1950 in Jasper, she was the beloved daughter of Will K. McCollum and Huelett Brewer McCollum.  Rita built a life rooted in love, kindness, and devotion to others. She shared many wonderful years with her husband Arnold Alder, and together they created a home filled with warmth and family.  She spent her working years caring for children at Lois Holden’s daycare, a place where her gentle spirit and patient heart made a lasting impact. Rita found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially working on puzzle books and spending time with the children she cared for. But nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by her family.  Rita will be remembered for her loving nature, her steady presence, and the joy she brought to those blessed to know her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Rita is preceded in death by her father Will K. McCollum and mother Huelett Brewer McCollum.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Arnold Alder, sons Adam (Amanda) Alder and Michael Alder, brother Allen McCollum, twin sister Reba (Rickey) Moore, 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation was on Friday, January 23 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

A graveside service was held on Friday, January 23 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery at 3 p.m., with Pastor David Berry who officiated.

Pallbearers were Michael Alder, Mathew Alder, Adam Alder, Chris Slatton, Kaleb Williams and Cole Alder.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee 37347, 423-942-9500.
