
Ruth Ann Johnson, age 80 of Dunlap, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, at her home.
She was born in Horton, Alabama to the late Beamon Ashley and Margaret “Maggie” Taylor Ashley. Ann had a deep love for all kinds of pets and especially enjoyed bird watching from her front porch. She was a faithful attendee of Macedonia Church and cherished her time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Musgrave and Brenda Harrison, as well as her son Jamie Gass.
She is survived by her loving husband Norman Leon Johnson, her daughter Connie Jean Farmer and son-in-law EJ Farmer, her niece Kathy Horton, nephew John Harrison, grandchildren Cassie Farmer, Julian Farmer, Melissa Gass and Amanda Gass, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 22 at 1 p.m. in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, located at 21 East Fifth Street in Jasper with Pastor Robert Caudill who officiated.
Interment was follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday, January 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service, all of which was at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Landen Fletcher, Camron Farmer, Julian Farmer, Randy Williams, Vinnie Scarborough and Jeremy Stewart.
