
Marlene King Pittman, 59 of South Pittsburg passed away on Saturday, December 6 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She was a beloved daughter, wife, mom, and “Gi Gi” whose warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her.
A proud graduate of South Pittsburg High School, Marlene was a cheerleader and a loyal supporter of her hometown teams throughout her life. She continued her education and became a dental assistant before beginning a long and dedicated career with Cigna Healthcare, where she worked for over 35 years.
Marlene loved spending time with her family and friends, sharing laughter, stories, and the simple moments that meant the most. She adored her dogs and was an enthusiastic fan of both the Tennessee Volunteers and the South Pittsburg Pirates. Her generosity, loyalty, and love made her a cherished presence in the lives of many.
She was preceded in death by her parents Duck and Judith King, her mother-and father-in-law Richard and Sandra Pittman, aunt Pat King and sister-in-law Cindy “Lou Lou” Pittman.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Ronnie Pittman, her one and only daughter Allyxandra Marlene Pittman, as well as her treasured grandson Boston Nash. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Tracee “Big Bird” Pittman, uncles Gene King, Paul (Brenda) King, Billy (Margert) King and Jimmy King, niece and nephews Christy (Joel) Greene, Joshua Belk, Courtney Burnette and Austin Burnette, as well as special friends Donna Thomas, Betty Brown, Candy Hudson, Cindy Pickett and many others whose lives she touched.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 10 at 1 p.m. at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Lane who officiated.
Marlene was laid to rest at the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 9 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral services held within the Chapel.
Pallbearers were Josh Belk, Austin Burnette, Matt Turner, Dustin Houston, Dakota Houston and Jason Mount.
Marlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
