The county Board of Mayor & Commissioners have approved of a contract with Crescendo Marketing regarding the promotion of tourism in Marion County.

During the meeting, County Mayor David Jackson explained that several years prior the county received near $100,000 in tourism funds from the state in support of local tourism. He added that South Pittsburg resident Dougley Moore provides assistance by programming the county’s official tourism website, with the contract allowing for Crescendo to provide marketing services through various social media platforms regarding the county’s local tourism. Prior to the meeting, the contract had been examined and approved by state officials before it was passed along to the county for their own approval. $18,000 were required to cover all costs for marketing services.

The board officially approved the contract during the previous month’s annual meeting, with Crescendo Marketing to continue providing assistance in marketing tourism for Marion County.
