Marty Stephen Roberts, 65 of Jasper was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 3. Born on November 29, 1960 in Whitwell, he was the beloved son of John Roberts Jr. and Ruby Lewis Roberts. Marty built a life defined by hard work, kindness, and genuine connection. Self‑employed as an auto-body mechanic, he took pride in his craft and in helping others. His life’s partner, Kay Pelham, was his constant companion and source of joy. He attended Coppinger Cove Baptist Church, living with a gentle spirit and a heart open to everyone he met. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and drawn to his warmth, humor, and easygoing nature. Marty found peace and happiness outdoors. He loved exploring Sequatchie Cove, magnet fishing, metal detecting, and hunting for arrowheads. He appreciated the simple beauty of nature, the thrill of discovery, and the quiet moments that came with being outside. Cars fascinated him and classic rock music brought him deep enjoyment, an unexpected but cherished part of who he was. Above all, Marty treasured time with the people he loved. Whether sharing a story, lending a hand, or simply being present, he made every moment meaningful. His family and friends will forever remember his generous heart, his love of life, and the way he made everyone feel like they belonged. Marty’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared so freely.
