Lloyd Glenn Pittman, age 75 of Whitwell was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 24. Born on August 20, 1950 in Whitwell, he was the beloved son of Virgil Pittman and Marilda Brown Pittman. Lloyd built a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. He was married to the love of his life Drenda Jones Pittman and was a devoted member of Poplar Grove Church of God, where his faith guided every step he took. A man of many talents and a gentle spirit, Lloyd found joy in the everyday blessings around him. He loved playing guitar and singing, often filling his home with music. He enjoyed working in the yard, tending to his garden, and tinkering with anything that needed a careful hand. Westerns, Jimmy Swaggart broadcasts, and quiet moments outdoors were some of his favorite pastimes. Above all, Lloyd cherished time spent with his family, especially his girls, who were the light of his life. His presence was steady, kind, and full of love and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his father Virgil Pittman, mother Marilda Brown Pittman, daughter Marilda Pittman, brothers Cecil Pittman and Junior Pittman, and sister Virgie Pickett.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Drenda Jones Pittman, stepson Lavoy Jones, daughters MeShon Scott and Vanessa Thacker, brother Estil Pittman, sister Linda Pritchett, grandchildren Ambra, Revonda, Corey & Brittany Jenkins, Joshua (Cassie) Thacker, Cody Thacker, Austin Pedigo, Hailey Pedigo, Kyle (Nikki) Pedigo, Riley Roberson, Tiffany (Blake) Downey and Tabby (Lance) Hatfield, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, as well as other family members and friends.
Visitation was on Friday, February 27 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, February 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also held on Saturday, February 28 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Jerry Merciers, Pastor Jonathon Graham, and Pastor Davaughn Richardson who officiated.
Lloyd was laid to rest on Saturday, February 28 at Carolines Chapel Cemetery in Jasper immediately after the funeral services were held.
Pallbearers were Joshua Thacker, Austin Pedigo, Kyle Pedigo, Corey Jenkins, Eli Thacker and Chris Kappes.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Adoration Hospice for all the wonderful care given to Lloyd.
