Lydia Donnell Sartin, 29
Lydia Donnell Sartin, beloved daughter of Saundra Michelle Sartin, went to be with Jesus on the morning of Saturday, February 8. The Lord called our angel home, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lydia struggled on this earth but always made the best of every situation she encountered. She was joyful! For 29 years we were blessed to have an angel living amongst us. While our hearts are shattered, we find comfort in knowing that Lydia is free from pain and rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus, whom she often sang about with the most impressionable joy.
It is indeed hard work to care for a special needs child, an often consuming, all-encompassing labor of love, but it was rewarding in so many ways. It was incredible to see the world through Lydia. No matter how hard one’s day was, she made everything right, and the world was instantly brighter. She marveled at small things that few others ever even notice or realize.
Lydia taught us that love does not come from words or actions, but your heart. Lydia’s heart was as pure as anyone we have ever known. Knowing that Lydia is now free from the physical burdens she endured while on this earth, will bring us comfort and peace.
Lydia was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Willie “Buddy” and Martha Kilgore and Ray and Eula Sartin. Special great aunts, Connie Layne and Brenda Webb. Special friend, Alexandria Woods.
She is survived by her mother, Saundra Michelle Sartin; grandparents, Donnie and Sandra Sartin; and several great aunts and great uncles.
