Whitwell park pavilion to now have reservation system
F ollowing ongoing discussions surrounding the Whitwell-based Name Your Own Price Facebook group, the city’s Board of Mayor & Commissioners (BoMC) agreed to implement a reservation system for the usage of Whitwell City Park’s public pavilion.

Whitwell Wins Come From Behind Thriller Over Grundy County
L ast Friday, the Whitwell Tigers baseball team was looking for revenge after losing to Grundy County 7-6 just a week prior. In a game where Whitwell trailed for nearly the entire contest, they were able to avenge that loss with a 12-9 victory.
Marion County Wins Regular Season District Championship
T he Marion County Warriors baseball team was faced with a tall task in its pursuit of the regular-season district championship. Trailing Sequatchie County by two games in the district standings, Marion County needed to win both remaining contests. After a Game 1 win on the road, the Warriors followed up with a 4-3 win at home to secure home-field advantage in the district tournament.
Whitwell Softball Throttles Grundy County
T he Whitwell Lady Tigers softball team hosted the Grundy County Lady Yellowjackets last Monday. Whitwell dominated the first meeting between the two teams earlier in the season, winning 7-1. The Lady Tigers were able to defeat the Yellowjackets once again, this time by a score of 9-3.
