Mark Griffith, Director of Schools for Marion County, is to remain within the local school system as director through a newly approved four-year term.
The decision was made during the Board of Education’s December meeting. In the meeting, all board members unanimously agreed to accept the renewal of Griffith’s superintendent contract. All terms under the contract remain the same as previously before, with the only modifications implemented regarded dates which his newfound term officially begins and ends.
“It’s a new modified contract for me for four years. It starts January 1 of 2026 and it will run to December 31 of 2030,” explained Griffith.
Because of the contract’s acceptance, Griffith will continue his role as the leading superintendent within the Marion County school system for another four years.
