Located just off of Highway 28 on 14104 in Whitwell is a family-owned gun store that sells a diverse range of firearms and gear.

The Chamber opened for business back in January of 2024, where Thomas Argo, the store owner, established it under the intent of bringing good products to residents of Marion County by selling all products at affordable prices. He additionally wanted to bring a convenient location within the community, where residents don’t have to make the trip to Chattanooga to purchase new firearms or ammunition.

Argo and his family always had a passion for all things firearms, in addition to having different backgrounds while serving in the military. Both his interests, as well as knowledge and experience over the years helped drive him to open his own gun store within the valley.

The store offers several of the biggest brands of firearms within the industry, including Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Taurus, and Mossberg. Different guns sold include pistols, shotguns, and rifles. Agro explained how among the brands left for sale within the store, Canik is currently the biggest selling due to its fair price and overall quality as manufactured handguns. He also noted how upon purchase, the gun can be utilized right out of the box, whether for target practice or self-defense.

“Smith & Wesson and Canik are really good made guns right now,” stated Argo.

In addition to firearms, The Chamber also sells ammunition for all types of guns. If not in stock, Thomas and other family members working within the premises are happy to help customers place a special order for the proper ammo needed. Attachments and other weapons in stock range from bows and knives, to lights and scopes. Additional gear such as holsters, binoculars, and targets are also for sale at The Chamber.

The store’s busiest time of the year is between the months of August and December, when annual hunting season begins and grows to its peak during the colder months. Thomas mentioned how hunters from around the area have stopped by to purchase ammunition from the business. He also shared plans to expand the size and inventory of the store, with the goal to add hunting gear and feeders for animals within the planned addition to the facility.

“I’ll have to keep more deer corn in stock, and I plan on having deer feeders and a bunch of clothing lined in for hunting,” explained Thomas.

The Chamber will be turning two years old in January 2026. Thomas and other relatives hope to continue satisfying customers with their firearm needs for many more years to come.
