Last Saturday and Sunday, Monteagle held its 66th Annual Mountain Market. The Monteagle Mountain Market is an event for the community that showcases vendors and other distributors. It’s been occurring every year since 1959. At the same time, they also held their very first Business Expo.

The Monteagle Business Expo is a function held to help promote local community businesses. The event was from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both events were at the Hannah Pickett Park in Monteagle. The event was held by the town’s Chamber of Commerce. The vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Andy Baggenstoss, helped host the event.

“It supports the Chamber of Commerce. And the Chamber of Commerce supports the businesses within each of our communities on the south Cumberland Plateau.” explained Baggenstoss.

The Monteagle Mountain Market has been loved for years. Many families come every year to enjoy it. One attendee said, “It is a lot of fun. This event does a lot to help the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.”

The Monteagle Mountain Market and Business Expo was full of vendors promoting their businesses. This year, there were about 75 vendors at the event. Many vendors offered food, drinks, arts, and crafts. Some other vendors sold handmade goods, home decor, and other creative Monteagle products. One of the vendors was Zak’s Woodwork, who sells handmade home decor made out of wood.

There was a great amount of variation among vendors as well. For instance, one vendor, RMR Septic Services, was there to promote their business. RMR Septic Services was founded by Ron and Marliyn Rodman. There was also a body paint artist, Kierismatic Design, from Nashville. Kierismatic Design does face paintings for events such as the Monteagle Mountain Market. Another vendor was Rosie’s Farmhouse Kitchen, which sold many foods such as cinnamon rolls, fruit tea, and much more.

There were many things to do at the Monteagle Mountain Market. One of them was a cruise-in car show that had many classic and newer cars alike. The cars were parked in front of the May Justus Memorial Library. Behind the car show was a kids’ park with two large bounce houses for children to enjoy. There were activities for all ages.

The 66th annual Monteagle Mountain Market was a great success, including their new Business Expo. There were many things to do and get at the market. And while doing so, attendees helped into promoting the local businesses within the community. It was for many, a great event for the community to enjoy.
