Matthew Tate, a former employee of Kimball’s Maintenance Department, officially resigned during this month’s meeting of the Kimball Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
Mayor Rex Pesnell explained that Tate submitted a letter of resignation, which he read aloud. In the letter, Tate stated that the decision to step down was not easy but necessary in order to pursue new professional opportunities that align more closely with his personal and career goals. He also expressed gratitude to the Board and the community for the opportunity to grow within the Maintenance Department and for the relationships and skills developed during his time in Kimball.
Pesnell described the letter as well written and moved to accept the resignation. He also wished Tate the best in his future endeavors.
Alderman John Matthews noted that Tate had worked with the department for about two years. He shared that Tate had personally met with both him and Mayor Pesnell to discuss his decision to move on. Matthews echoed the mayor’s sentiments, offering his support and best wishes.
Tate’s resignation was officially accepted by unanimous vote of the Board, concluding his service to the town after two years in the department.
