Chattanooga State Community College’s Kimball campus will once again host its Medical Assisting Program starting this fall.
The program is a three-semester course offered through the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT), where enrolled students can study and train in the medical field through classroom instruction and hands-on practice during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Katie Collier, technical clerk for Chattanooga State’s Kimball campus, explained that upon completing all three semesters, graduates become fully certified medical assistants, equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to begin a career in medical support services. The Kimball campus has offered the program multiple times in the past, and this year’s relaunch aims to reintroduce it to the community and encourage new enrollment. The upcoming program will take place in a newly constructed facility dedicated to medical education, which will also house a new Registered Nursing course.
Registration for the Medical Assisting Program is currently open for those interested in the fall semester, as well as for the spring and summer semesters next year. Applications can be submitted at https://www.chattanoogastate.edu/medical-assisting.
