The announcement and approval for a new multiuse gas station in Jasper was made during this month’s public meeting.
Brought forward to the city board members by Mayor Jason Turner, the announcement came during discussion of a Beer Board agenda item. Mayor Turner explained that the new gas station is planned for construction off Highway 150, directly across the street from Jasper Middle School. Mayor Turner also shared that the station will feature a fast-food restaurant on one end and include a diesel pump that can accommodate trucks both big and small.
The gas station will be owned by Conexus Company LLC, a Tennessee-based company out of Sparta in White County. As for the fast-food restaurant, Mayor Turner said the city is not yet aware of which brand will occupy the space, nor has a major gas company been finalized to brand and operate the station.
Motion for approval of the new gas station was officially made by all members of Jasper’s city board, and further work on the project is expected to begin soon.
