The Board of Mayor and Aldermen in Jasper has agreed to a service agreement with OLG Engineering for work at the new city hall located at 32 Courthouse Square.

Mayor Jason Turner introduced a master service agreement with Oliver-Little-Gibson (OLG) Engineering regarding renovations needed for the new city hall’s community room. During the

meeting, Mayor Turner explained that because the city does not have a civil engineer on staff, OLG stepped in to handle the necessary tasks befo

re the space could be fully used.

“Our current engineering service doesn’t have a civil engineer who can do small projects. This agreement allows them to be an over-the-phone call engineer, and it doesn’t cost us anything unless we actually use them,” said Mayor Turner. He added that work inside the open space is nearly complete, with new drywall soon to be installed in the community room.

Progress on the new city hall was reported to be going very well, and all future meetings starting next month are set to be held at 32 Courthouse Square in downtown Jasper once the finishing touches are complete.
