Winnyfred Nicolitz Davis, born January 31, 1939, in Indonesia, died November 9, at the age of 85. She was a member of the Kimball Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jimmy Davis.
Winny was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Augustine Nicolitz, and two of her brothers, Rino and Roland (Fina).
She is survived by her daughter Jeanne Walker (Mike); two grandsons Matthew (Regina) and Davis (Amelia); and three great grandchildren, Emery, Johnny, and Gideon. She is also survived by her brother Ernst Nicolitz (Liz), Eric Nicolitz, Marcel Nicolitz (Sheila), Wanda Mattice (Bill) and a good number of nieces and nephews.
Jim and Winny lived most of their married life in El Paso, Texas, where Jimmy was a schoolteacher and Winny worked in the school cafeteria. Winny loved to laugh, shop, and enjoy her family. She was happiest being close with her great-grandchildren. Cooking for family was one of her passions. She was also an avid seamstress making clothes and dolls for herself and her family and community. For the past year and a half, Jimmy and Winny had been residents of Bridgeport, Alabama, to be closer to their daughter and great- grandchildren. Jimmy is currently a resident at Martin Boyd Chrisitan Home in Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15, at Rudder Funeral home in Bridgeport with visitation at 1:30 p.m. and service beginning at 3:30 p.m. and with Minister Billy Watkins of the Kimball Church of Christ presiding. Interment will be at the Walker Family Cemetery in Bridgeport.
