On December 14, at the Whitwell city council meeting, Chief Boyd unveiled the police department’s new patch.
Boyd presented the design to the public, and the first sample patch was given to the designer, Jeremy French, who was then brought to the front and honored during the meeting. A Whitwell native, Jeremy, is the grandson of Ed French, who tragically lost his life in the 1981 Mine 21 explosion. The Whitwell Police Department expressed sincere appreciation to Jeremy for his impactful design, emphasizing his role in becoming a part of Whitwell’s history.
