As of November 22, the Marion-Whitwell Mountain fire has successfully been 100% contained and no more personnel are on site.
The fire has been extinguished and a tragic 214.72 acres were affected by the burn. The land from a distance barely looks as if it has been through the horrific fire, standing as a testament to the resilience of the mountain. Burn bans are a serious matter and all citizens are encouraged to review their local Emergency Management Agency’s website and ordinances regarding such matters.
