Wander Brew, a popular coffee and ice cream shop located off of Main Street in Monteagle has officially closed its doors for business.
Originally beginning business as a coffee trailer back in May of 2023 in Cowan, Wander Brew grew into a local favorite for residents and tourists travelling by the area, with the coffee shop selling numerous flavors of coffee, ice cream, as well as serving rotating food items for customers to enjoy. Harley Cross, owner and founder of the business recently took to Facebook to share the news of the shop’s closure, where she detailed how and why her business is closing shop in town. She stated through the business’s Facebook page she was unable to renew the lease for the property, which left her to make the tough yet quick decision to close down.
Cross noted her thanks for all in Monteagle and beyond who supported her business. She also expressed that while the closure is heartbreaking for her and all involved with Wander Brew, she is keen to holding on to hope for the future ahead.
“As hearting as this is, I’m still holding on to hope. Hope that this isn’t the end of the story-just the end of this chapter. If the right opportunity comes, I’d love nothing more than to serve this community again,” quoted Cross on the same post.
Many online commented to the announcement, with all expressing shock and sadness to Harley’s business closing down within the Monteagle area. However, many also shared their support of her and of the future which lies ahead of her, encouraging further hope and love for her goals despite the locally owned business shutting down upon its final day being held on Saturday, May 31.
