Several trees by Highways 41 and 134 were downed due to recent severe weather this past weekend on Saturday, June 7.
Members of Haletown Volunteer Fire Department in Guild raced into the scene to help clear the way of both highways for drivers travelling through. However, upon arriving to the scene, additional aid was called in to help clear both highways due to the large amount of trees discovered downed by severe weather. Crews from both Sequatchie Volunteer Fire Department and Jasper Highlands Fire Department arrived on site to provide help for Haletown in clearing out all remaining trees through teamwork, dividing themselves into three separate groups to accelerate progress on clearing out Hwy’s 41 and 134. All involved managed to clear both sections of the highways, allowing motorists to safely drive through both routes in Marion County.
Haletown Volunteer Fire Department, under a post made by them on Facebook detailing the situation, expressed their appreciation to Sequatchie Volunteer and Jasper Highlands Fire for the help and teamwork which they provided at the scene on Saturday.
