Tommye Kaye Stanfill, 72, of Jasper, passed away January 22 with her family by her side.

Tommye Kaye was a 42-year member of McKendree United Methodist Church, of Jasper where she could always be found teaching the adult Sunday School Class or in the choir loft.  She was always up for a good card game.  But enjoyed her weekly Bridge game with her long-time crew of dedicated players, and her regular game of Bunko with her Bunko buddies. Tommye Kaye’s story is not complete without mentioning how proud she was of all of children she reached during her 39-year career as an educator.  She considered it a blessing to have taught so many Marion County children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Maness and her brother, Alan Maness, both of Decaturville. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Stanfill, daughter, Laura Allen (Barry), two wonderful granddaughters, Gracie and Sophie Allen of Jasper, her mother, Ruth Maness of Decaturville, sisters, Lana Douglas (Howard) of Lexington, Annette Gilbert of Decaturville, and brother, Geary Maness (Betty) of Decaturville.  Finally, she is survived by her beloved “boys”, Scooter and Prince.

Visitation will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church, Jasper, on Saturday, January 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, January 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service at Church. A celebration of life will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church, 106 Highway 150, Jasper, on Sunday, January 28 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy McMillan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McKendree United Methodist Church or Marion Animal Resource Connection. Arrangements are entrusted to Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, (423)942-2682.
