To mark the 10 year anniversary of serving as the water provider for the Whitwell water system, Tennessee American Water (TAW) collaborated with the American Water Charitable Foundation (AWCF) donating $2,500 each to a local church in need.

In a generous display of community support, on Thursday, December 14, TAW employees personally delivered the donations to Summer Simmons of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The food bank operates a vital distribution site at the Whitwell Church of God, playing a crucial role in providing sustenance to those in need. Throughout the year, dedicated employees, under the coordination of Marilyn Frazier, have actively volunteered for the program, embodying the company’s commitment to social responsibility. Together the companies donated a collective $5,000 for people in need.

“It’s important to our employees to give back to our community,” said TAW senior supervisor, Jason Campbell. “We appreciate the American Water Charitable Foundation providing the opportunity for funding to help those in need.”

“We are so thankful for the Tennessee American Water employees who have been helping us with the food distribution,” said Marilyn Frazier, coordinator for the Church of God all-volunteer project. “We couldn’t have done it this week without their help since there was more food than normal to distribute with the upcoming Christmas holiday.”
