Ruby “Tootie” Parker Sutherland, age 75, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 24, at her home following a brief illness. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Jasper and was retired from Miller Industries of Ooltewah, TN. Tootie enjoyed going to exercise class, playing pickleball with friends, gardening, quilting, and spending time with her great-grandkids, who loved their “Toobie” very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Sutherland; parents, Ben Parker and Lou Parker; siblings, Joyce Parker, Lillie Condra, John A. Parker, Waymon Parker and Martha Peden.
She is survived by her daughter, Tobi (Roger) Kilgore, Whitwell; step-son, Dewayne (Nancy) Sutherland, Dunlap; grandchildren, Jacob (Jordan) Kilgore, Lance Kilgore, and Regan Kilgore; great-grandchildren, Brooks, Scout and Mace Kilgore; step-grandchildren, Kathleen Sroba, Elizabeth Sutherland, and Amber Espindola; sisters, Christine Samples, Flat Rock, AL, Cathy Parker, Trenton, GA, Rita (Larry) Peacock, Sequatchie, TN, Sandy Condra, Jasper; brothers, Bill (Brenda) Parker, Whitwell, and Ronnie (Becky) Parker, Jasper; special friends, Darline Akin and Linda Hitchcock.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 12, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Roger Webb officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in her memory to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network or St. Jude Research Hospital.
