Roy Gail Stone, age 78 went home to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday, June 2.
Roy was a dedicated inspector for U.S. Pipe, devoting years of hard work and commitment to his profession before retiring.
He was an avid South Pittsburg Pirates Football fan.
He will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, kindness, as well as the impact he had on those who knew him. His family, friends and loved ones will all forever cherish the memories and moments shared with him.
Roy’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ann, his parents John and Margie Stone, his brother and sister-in-law Donnie and Anita Stone, as well as his grandparents William and Maude Stone and Joe D and Letha Gray.
Those left to cherish his memories are his son Jody Stone, siblings Linda (Jimmie) Morrison, Johnny (Linda) Stone, Carolyn (Wayne) Rollins, Debbie Mayfield, Sheila (Larry) Nelson, several nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Roy’s life was held on Saturday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
Roy was entombed with his beloved wife Ann Stone at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper.
Family and friends were invited to gather for public visitation on Saturday, June 7 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home’s South Pittsburg Chapel prior to the funeral service being held.
Pallbearers were Jae Stone, Larry Nelson, Jim Morrison, Mike Smith, Matt Stone and Chris Smith.
We want to thank our sister Debbie and her daughters for taking care of our brother, Roy while he has been out so sick. A special thanks goes out to Hospice of Chattanooga for their care.
