Roberta Jones, 83 of Sequatchie received her wings and flew to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 4 with her loving family surrounding her.
Roberta will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. She touched the lives of many with her generosity and gentle spirit, always offering a listening ear and unwavering support to those that she loved. Roberta was a lifelong member of Wesley Methodist Church, where she was a Layman and taught adult Sunday School.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Roberta was a nurse and worked at South Pittsburg Hospital in the ER for many years. She had so much compassion, kindness, and possessed a gentle nature. She loved gardening, working with flowers and loved her rock garden where she spent many hours. She wrote poetry and painted landscapes and was such a joy to be around, but she could get tough when needed (that’s when we all ran).
Roberta was preceded in death by her by her mother Izella Hadaway, father Fousen Hadaway, infant daughter Vicky Lynn Marshall, brother Robert Lee Hadaway and sister Meredith Summers.
Survivors left to cherish her memories include her three daughters, Marcie (Larry) Presnell, Audrey Diane (Sam) Petty and Kim (Bryan) Sox, one granddaughter that was the sunshine of her life, Billie Shadrick, who they shared a very special bond together. Two great granddaughters Kaitlyn (Daniel) King and Kindal Brooks, precious sisters Ruby Richards, Georgia McCaleb and Thelma Martin, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.
