Robert Dean Pippenger Jr., 59

Robert Dean Pippenger Jr., 59, of Chattanooga, formerly of Jasper, passed away peacefully on March 21, at home with his family beside him.

Rob was born January 5, 1965, to Robert Dean Pippenger Sr. and Diahana Jones Pippenger in Jasper.  He graduated from Marion County High School and attended the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He began a career as a Financial Adviser in 1987 at IDS American Express.  He formed a partnership with Wells Fargo in 2009.  Then he founded his own company Rivercrest Wealth Advisors Inc. in 2015.

He is survived by a daughter, Megan Pippenger, son-in-law, Christian Hall; son, Trey Pippenger; stepson, Hunter Hobbs and his wife Emily; mother, Diahana Pippenger, one sister, Tina Pippenger and her daughters, McKenna Vandergriff and Savanna Lawson; uncles, Kenneth and Johnny Pippenger, and several cousins and dear friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Hoyt and Louise Pippenger and Harley Gene and Mildred Jones; uncle, Neal Pippenger; aunts, Evelyn Lee, and Barbara Jones.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, with the Reverend Alan Johnston officiating. Interment followed at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 24, from noon to 3 p.m. and on Monday, March 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Keith Pippenger, John Pippenger, Kent Pippenger, Hunter Hobbs, AJ Johnson, Kevin Featherston, Chase Vandergriff, and Zac Lawson. Honorary Pallbearers were Joe Spangler, Hoyt Pippenger, and Ralph Kennedy. Arrangements were entrusted to Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, (423) 942-2682.
