Redpoint is a climbing term, perfect for the fun, funky, and fresh restaurant located in downtown Jasper. The Redpoint Inn is owned by Robert and Carol Doherty and located across from the courthouse.

The couple previously worked at Vanderbilt in the lab but visited the Marion area for climbing. They were so impressed with the area that they even bought a house in Sewanee. They got the idea for the restaurant from another restaurant but wanted to make it their own.

Working hard and pushing against all odds, Robert and Carol did everything they had to, to make their dream a reality. Despite setbacks of COVID, they kept developing their skills and in March of 2021, they opened their doors.

Features include specialty pizzas, pasta, and sandwiches. Their pasta and meatballs, and turkey, apple and brie sandwich are their most popular, second only to their crazy pizzas. They use unusual ingredients in the Hot Mama, Forager, and Luau, which can also be made into calzones. The combinations make for a dazzling taste that is one-of-a-kind.

The Dohertys source their ingredients locally as much as possible, and the dough is made fresh every day. They also grind their espresso beans fresh every day. Carol hand makes fresh baked goods and desserts, the most popular being her hot cinnamon rolls. They also sell climbing and hiking gear on the second floor of the establishment.
