This is one of numerous postcards known to exist of the Pine Crest Motel and Restaurant at Kimball. The motel and restaurant was built by Charlie Rollins and owned by the colorful A. R. “Buckshot” Walker in the early 1950s. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Griffith would become owner/operators later. It was once the location of the Evening Star Bar, which had a dancehall in the basement. When the business closed it found a new lease on life, with the small cottages being rented out to workers and the main building being utilized to house a number of businesses.
