Kimball residents, being Mayor Rex Pesnell, I want to thank you for your continued support during the past ten years. Being appointed mayor in 2014 and re-elected for two more terms, I am asking for your support another term. With your support, we can continue to grow in our wonderful town here in Kimball Tennessee. The mayor and board continue to work well together for the betterment of our residents and businesses. As a board, we continue to offer the Municipal Site Plan for AirMedCare throughout Kimball. We have also been able to keep our property taxes low along with offering free garbage service twice a week along with free brush services. Our board works with the Marion County Highway Department on paving our streets and repairing/rebuilding bridges within our city limits by utilizing county services, our municipality can save taxpayers money. The board works diligently with the town engineer and others on various projects to continue a strong infrastructure for the continued growth. Improvements have been made to the tower lights near the interstate transforming these into LED bulbs. As a board, we have enhanced our park with a new basketball court and paved parking along with the addition of maintenance storage facilities behind our fire hall. The board continues to support all of our departments, along with supporting these departments searching for and applying for grants relevant to their departments. With persistence, the board continues to apply for the CDBG grant for assistance on the purchase of a new pumper truck, in August 2024 the truck was ordered. The board along with the park board continues to work to apply for grants to enhance our parks. The town has continually applied for the BlueCross Healthy Places Grant with hopes that our town will be selected soon. As a Board, we worked with Marion County Mayor and Commissioners, SETDD, and Food City Representatives together through several meetings and workshops, an incentives package was prepared and approved which secured Food City locating within our town. Our board has worked with developers for Dunkin Donuts and the new Subway location along with the developers to get the former Shoney’s location to start the building of the Tony Roma’s restaurant. The board worked with TDOT and Kimball Christian Academy members to install school signs for a safer school zone. The State of Tennessee, Marion County, SETDD, Town of Jasper and Kimball all worked together to get Industrial Boulevard paved with widening of the entrance to the bridge over Interstate 24 and resurfacing along with paving of Kimball Lane. I want to thank every one of you for all that you do to help our town grow and be a desired location for new development. I also want to thank you for being patient with our growing pains. I would like to ask you to vote Rex Pesnell on November 5 so I can continue to be your Kimball Mayor and we can continue to thrive.
