Patrick Rick Scales is resting in the arms of Jesus. He was three weeks short of his 72nd birthday. He was a former member of Bethal A. M. E. Church, a Christian, as well as an avid Bible student throughout his life. A very gentle person, large in stature and larger in personality, he was both a graduate of South Pittsburg High School and a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg.
Patrick is preceded in death by his brothers Elbert Lewis Hutchins and Charles Bobby Cooley, as well as his great niece Samaria Aker.
He is survived by his devoted and loving sister Hilda Aker, niece Candace (Vincent) Banks, nephew Brian Jason Aker, special cousin Joey (Christine) Pryor, in addition to a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
There will be private services at a later date.
