The Office of Courtney Lynch, District Attorney General, 12th Judicial District, released a report from the Monteagle Police Department detailing a surveillance operation and subsequent arrest of two local hotel owners.

The operation was conducted by Officers Avery McGinness and K9 Officer Brant Voss on July 18. The surveillance targeted the back side of Super 8 and Mountain Inn due to heightened drug activity in the area. During which, two individuals with felony warrants from Franklin County were observed on the balcony, leading to a foot chase in the parking lot and the subsequent arrest of the suspects.

It was discovered that the hotel had a concealed room where the wanted individuals had been residing.

On December 12, the Monteagle Police Department arrested the owners, Dakshaben Patel and Harshil Patel, charging them with TCA 39-16-502(2b) False Reports to police officers, a Class E felony. The arrest was based on repeated false information provided by the Patel subjects about the wanted suspects’ residence at the hotel.
