Michael E. “Bo” Poe, 64 of New Hope was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 3. On January 1, 1961, he was born to the late James Thomas Poe and Frankie Elizabeth Roberson Poe in Jasper. Michael was married to Kimberly Whitson for 30 years. He was a loving and caring husband and a huge Tennessee Vols fan. Michael loved going to church, being around family and friends, mowing with his John Deere and listening to gospel music.
Michael is preceded in death by his father James Thomas Poe, mother Frankie Elizabeth Roberson Poe, as well as brothers-in-law Terry Guy and Randall Clark.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Kimberly Whitson Poe, brother Wayne (Brenda) Poe, sisters Teresa Poe, Lisa Guy, Christy Poe, and Tammy (Dale) Bolten, nieces and nephews Chris Poe, James Poe, Amy Wynne, Tyler Guy, Alisha Velazquez, Tatiana Velazquez and Emma Clark, as well as other family members and special friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also on Sunday, September 7 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with David Willmon who officiated.
Michael was laid to rest on Sunday, September 7 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jasper immediately after the funeral services was hosted.
Pallbearers were Clarence Kilgore, Danny Gregg, James Poe, Stevan Walker and Bo Wynne.
