Michael B. Henry, 57 of Whitwell, formerly of Port Royal, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27 after a long and courageous battle with end-stage heart failure.
Born on January 13, 1968, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Michael was raised in Walnut. He was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. From a young age, Michael’s life and passion revolved around anything with gears and a motor. This passion seamlessly transitioned into his distinguished professional career in mold design and prototype. He thrived on working closely with clients, bringing their designs to life with absolute perfection and precision. His colleagues at Pfaltzgraff in York, Pennsylvania knew and appreciated his brilliant mind and dedication.
Outside of his professional life, Michael’s love for mechanics extended to his hobbies, particularly his cherished muscle cars, especially both his Camaros, as well as his show truck. He was a quiet, brilliant man whose witty and low-key humor brought joy to those around him. Michael had a remarkable ability to create efficiencies in everything he touched. In his semi-retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed his life as a chicken farmer, a testament to his versatility and love for working with his hands.
Michael’s proudest and happiest achievement was the life he built with his beloved wife of 39 years, Patty. Their enduring love was the cornerstone of his world.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife Patty, his loving mother S. Agnes, as well as several nieces and nephews who will dearly miss his quiet strength and wit. He was preceded in death by his father Donald S. Henry, and his hero and big brother Mark A. Henry.
