Mayme Ruth Garner Stewart, 94

Mayme Ruth Garner Stewart was born in Orme, TN on January 2, 1930 and died in Jasper on March 1, at age of 94.
Ruth was born and raised in Orme, TN. She graduated from MTSU with a teaching degree and taught elementary school children for 4 years in Haletown then 36 years in Marion County, TN.
She has been a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Jasper and loved her church.
Preceded her in death by her husbands, Jere William Turner, married 18 years and Joe Anderson Stewart, married 36 years; parents, David Walter Garner and Mayme Lane Bryant; sisters, Hettie Clara Smith, Ruby Bryant Garner, Thelma Dillion Garner and one niece, Patricia Jean Price and nephew, Robert David Smith, called “Bud”.
Survivors include her son, Jere David Turner; niece, Mildred Smith Tenpenny called (Sitter); Great Nieces and Nephews, Nick Tenpenny, Kelley Tenpenny, Cheri Haskew, Butch Brown, Mike Smith, Ralph Smith, and John Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 4, at 12 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper Chapel with Pastor Erik McDaniel officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the chapel service.
Burial will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.
Pallbearers will be Nick Tenpenny, Ralph Smith, Austin Henderson, Hunter Tenpenny, Will Tenpenny and Caleb Henderson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Grace Presbyterian Church and Best friend of Ruth’s; George and Brenda Allender, Vickie Gomez, and Deb Conley.
In lieu of Flowers please send donations to Grace Presbyterian Church, 3363 Main St, Jasper, TN 37347.
