Mary Sisk Evans, 96

Mary Sisk Evans, 96, was called home on Monday, December 2. On September 27, 1928, Mary was born to the late Joseph Sisk and Myrtle Jackson Sisk in Orme, Tennessee. She was married to the late Dewey H. “Dick” Evans. Mary loved to play bingo, and going to the casinos. She would ride the bus with all her friends and especially loved going with her best bingo buddy, Doris. Mary never failed to make everyone feel loved and special, and provided whatever they would need. She loved to cook and entertain the family. Mary loved her children and grandchildren. She loved working at Marion County School System in the cafeteria, and loved all the children, they all called her Mammaw.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Jerry Don Evans, Jimmy Ray Evans, James Evans, daughter, Brenda Slatton; brothers, Joe Sisk, Jr., James Sisk, and Johnny Sisk, Sr.; sister, Dorothy Hoback; grandchildren, Chris Evans, Brook Evans, Jonathan Evans and Josh Slatton.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Kenneth Evans, Paul (Debbie) Evans, Roger (Sheila) Evans, Ronnie (Lucy) Evans; daughter, Cathie Brown; sister, Beulah Holcomb; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

The family will hold visitation on Wednesday, December 4, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, December 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services are on Thursday, December 5, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Scott Evans, Jason Evans, Kyle Evans, Jeremy Evans, Ron Evans and Nathan Evans.
