Mary Raines, 66, of Jasper, Tennessee was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 20, 2023. She was born to the late J.C. Tate and Stella Bryant Tate Roberts on August 1, 1957. Mary cared deeply about the hearts of others, listening with care while providing a gentle but an unreservedly honest perspective. She sacrificed her time, energy and ultimately her body in care of others, always helping family, friends and strangers.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Rev. J.C. Tate; brother, John Scott Tate; sister, Joan Claudia Tate.
She is survived by her beloved dog, “Peanut,” mother, Stella Bryant Tate Roberts; sons, Clinton (Cindy) Cooksey, Robert (Aimee Suzette) Cooksey; daughter, Christine Monachos; brother, Bruce Tate (Jenell McCord); sister, Debbie Callan (Bill Braziel); grandchildren, Justin Wilson, Savannah Cooksey, Stephen Cooksey; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Please join us in honoring Mary and her positive impact on our lives and community at Amazing Grace Chapel 211 Sherwood Street in Sequatchie, Tennessee 37374. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm CST for Remembrance, Refreshments and Fellowship.
The memorial service will follow visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm CST at Amazing Grace Chapel in Sequatchie, Tennessee.
