Mary Jo Thomas, 69 of South Pittsburg was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday July 26. On March 6, 1956, Mary Jo was born to the late James Floyd Davis, Sr. and Virginia Rogers Davis in South Pittsburg. She was a homemaker and attended Midway Baptist Church. Mary Jo enjoyed classic Sci-Fi and loved animals, including cats and dogs. She also had a pet squirrel and loved her beloved companion, Loki. Mary Jo enjoyed game shows, Star Trek and Svengoolie. She loved and played basketball. Mary Jo loved gardening, and most of all she loved her family very much and loved spending time with them.
Mary Jo is preceded in death by her father James Floyd Davis Sr., mother Virginia Rogers Davis, brothers James Floyd Davis, Jr., Bobby Davis, Sammie Davis, Chris Davis, and sister Charlotte Davis.
Left to cherish her memories are her son John Floyd Thomas, daughters Mellissa Ann Thomas and Rebecca Lynn Thomas, sister Daisy Sisk, grandchildren Victoria Joy Thomas (Alexander Osgood), Paisleigh Thomas (Chad Tanner), Madison Ivey Thomas, Jonathan Thomas and Samuel Wade, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also held on Monday, July 28 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor David Berry who officiated.
