Mary Frances Shrum Hartline, 86, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, while surrounded by her family and friends.
A native of Gruetli-Laager, Mary Frances was the daughter of the late Marion McKinley Shrum and Equilla Bivens Shrum. She was a faithful wife and mother to five children, and it was her great joy to cook big meals and have all her family there.
She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, and she taught a children’s Sunday school Class for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 1/2 years, Walter E. Hartline, her son, Aaron Keith Hartline, and her daughter, Deborah Lee Hartline McCrary, sisters; Rosie Shrum Moore, Ester Shrum Wood, Dorothy Shrum Martin, Argie Shrum Moore, Naomi Shrum Hall, and Rebecca Shrum Bell.
Survivors include her children; Mike (Carrie) Hartline, Greg (Kim) Hartline, Janet (Jason) Middlebrooks; grandchildren, Katie, Brian, Leanne, Elizabeth, Sidney, Natalee, Seth, Addison, Savannah, Lauren and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Mason and Gordon; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Meade and Rev. Jim Richardson officiating.
Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. (CDT) and on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CDT) prior to the service in the chapel. The pallbearers will be Brian Hartline, Seth McCrary, Nathan Middlebrooks, Scott Smith, Sawyer Hale and Cayden Holland.
