A Marion County mother was killed in a fatal motor accident on I-24 East just before Thanksgiving.

Troopers from Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to the scene of the accident that occurred on 1-24 East in Marion County on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Due to the accident, the interstate was forced to shut down, all incoming traffic eastbound being diverted to Exit 158 and cautioned to utilize additional routes.

After investigations were conducted, it was revealed that mother of four Kali Crushell West Harris, 27, was the sole fatality of the accident that day. Her mother, Jennifer Goodson Webber, stated that the accident occurred when another driver swerved into Harris head-on while she was en-route home from finishing her shift with FedEx. She worked as a delivery driver for the company.

Webber described her being a loving and devoted mother, wife, and best friend, as well as being a talented baker in the culinary world. Many took to social media to express their thoughts and prayers towards her family during an unexpected time of tragedy once the news was made aware.

After her death was announced, Webber started a GoFundMe online in support of burial expenses, which FedEx later on informed the family that burial expenses up to $10,000 would be covered by the company, leaving only the burial plot to be financially supported.

A visitation and funeral service for Harris was held on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
