A Marion County deputy passed away unexpectedly his weekend after suffering a medical emergency.
Deputy Shannon “Shane” Lang had only been with Marion County for a few months at the time of his passing.
“We quickly became attached to this genuine man who was great fun to work with and loved what he did,” the sheriff’s department said on social media. “He loved his family and enjoyed life. Our hearts go out to our neighbors to our north, Sequatchie County Sheriff Office. Shane started his law enforcement career there and their hearts are shattered as well.”
Lang was 48 when suffered a medical emergency Sunday morning. He was a correction officer since 2000 and became a deputy for Sequatchie County in 2014.
He is survived by his wife Angela, two sons and three daughters, eight grandchildren and five siblings.
