Louise “Sissy” Dobson, 75 of Jasper passed away peacefully on June 28, just 15 days after the love of her life, her husband of nearly 60 years Tommy Dobson. A devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and treasured friend, Sissy’s greatest joy in life was her family, and her heart never strayed far from the ones she loved.

Sissy was known for her warmth, her laughter, as well as her unmatched ability to make a house feel like a home. She spent many years working as a real estate agent, helping others find their perfect place — but it was within the walls of her own home that her true legacy lived. Whether she was decorating for the seasons, tending to her flowers, or planning a holiday gathering, Sissy poured love into everything she touched.

Above all, she was a wife, mother and grandmother who loved deeply and gave endlessly. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she showed up for them in every way.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that she is once again with her beloved husband, hand in hand just as they were for nearly six decades. Her life was a beautiful example of love, strength, as well as grace, and her presence will be missed beyond measure.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Dobson, her parents Alvin and Estelle Mashburn, and her daughter Amelia (Amy) Dobson Parker.

Sissy is survived by her daughter Abbygail (Travis) Shields, son Joshua (Madison) Dobson, grandchildren Meghan (James) Cooper, Andrew (Felicia) Parker, Luke Dobson, Emma Dobson, Blake Dobson, Boone Shields and great-grandchildren Ella Cooper, Jack Cooper, Hannah Cooper, Lily Parker and Ian Parker, siblings James Henry (Doris) Mashburn, Alvin (Sherrie) Mashburn, Robert Mashburn, Marcia (Bobby) Kay and Carl Mashburn, as well as alos several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Sissy were held on Tuesday, July 1 at 1 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home’s Jasper Chapel, with Pastor Mike Sims who officiated.

Interment was followed immediately after the funeral service on Tuesday, July 1 at 4 p.m. (EDT) at Lafayette Memory Garden Cemetery in LaFayette, Georgia.

Visitation were additionally hosted on Tuesday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CDT) at Rogers Funeral Home’s Jasper Chapel.
