Lora Lee Jones, 95 of Jasper was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 11. On September 4, 1930, she was born to Lonnie Lee Brooks and Ethel Leroy Brooks in Hollywood, Alabama. Lora was of Methodist faith and attended New Hope Methodist Church in her younger years. She was a homemaker, being married to Johnny Jones before his death. Lora was a very good mom and cook. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, flowers, crafting, talking to her friends on the phone and eating out. Lora loved being social, for she never met a stranger and was loved by everyone.
Lora is preceded in death by her father Lonnie Lee Brooks, mother Ethel Leroy Brooks, husband Johnny Jones, son-in-law Robert Keith, brothers Bill Brooks and Franklin Brooks, sisters Mary Griffin, Martha Ziegler, Rachel Brooks and Barbara Constanzo, grandchildren Christy and Misty Gothard, as well as great-great grandchild Zoe Walden.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Lora Ann Keith, Linda (James) Frame and Patricia (Jimmy) Anderson, sisters Alice Faye (Robert) Gross and Charlotte Kregl, grandchildren David (Trina) Walden, Tiffany (Gary) Mosley, Greg (Christina) Bianchi and Lonnie (Holly) Gothard, 14 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation was on Monday, October 13 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also on Tuesday, October 14 at 1 p.m. CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Roger Webb who officiated.
Lora was laid to rest on Tuesday, October 14 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately after the funeral service was held.
Pallbearers were Alec Walden, Michael Lloyd, Caleb Lloyd, Greg Bianchi, Steve Stevens and Jeff Huff.
