Linda Joyce Barnett, 80

Linda Joyce Barnett, 80 of Jasper was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 23. On July 25, 1945, she was born to the late James Lewis Jones and Doris June Liner Kilgore in Jasper.  She was married to Clarence “C. L.” Barnett. Linda worked as a waitress for Western Sizzlin in Jasper for 29 years and attended Cumberland Mountain Church of God.  She loved working on prayer quilts with her church. She loved working with the public and never met a stranger.  Linda enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family.

Linda is preceded in death by her father James Lewis Jones, mother Doris June Liner Kilgore and son Jake Dwayne Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Clarence “C. L.” Barnett, son Jim (Donna) Smith, stepson Lee Barnett, stepdaughter Vicki (Paul) Layne, sister Wanda Cooper (Carl) Mount, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, one niece and nephew, as well as other family members and special friends.

Visitation was held Friday, August 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services were also held on Friday, August 29 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Brother Jerry Basham who officiated.

Linda was laid to rest on Friday, August 29 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately after the funeral service was held.

Pallbearers were Chad Smith, Garrett Smith, Dakota Smith, Dave Tudors, Corbin Merrell and Danny Hale.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee 37347, 423-942-9500.
