Leonard Hewell Capley, 91

Leonard Hewell Capley, 91, of Jasper, Tennessee was called home on Sunday, February 11.  On August 17, 1932, he was born to the late Alvin Columbus Capley and Mellie Smith Capley.  Leonard was married to Evelyn Jones Capley and was a Manager for Chattanooga Bakery.  He was a Veteran after serving in the United States Army.  Leonard loved to read, flowers, the Atlanta Braves, UT Vols, camping and fishing.  He loved his family and his grandchildren and enjoyed getting together with them and loved cooking BBQ.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret West, Louise Coffman and Lorraine Capley. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Evelyn; son, Jeffrey (Vickie) Capley; daughter, Sharon Thompson; sister, Shirley Broome; grandchildren, Kendyl (Douglas) Stokes, Brandon (Jerri) Thompson, Thomas Cody (Kara) Thompson, Jason (Mandy) Capley, Daniel Chase (Bonnie) Capley, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation is Wednesday, February 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (12:00 to 2:00 ET) at Tate Funeral Home, Jasper, Tennessee. Funeral services are Wednesday, February 14, at 1 p.m. (2:00 pm ET) at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor James Hutto officiating. Leonard will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Friday, February 16, at 10:30 am ET.

Pallbearers are Jason Capley, Chase Capley, Cody Thompson, Doug Stokes with honorary pallbearer Brandon Thompson.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee, 423-942-9500.
